- Tesla in its Master Plan Part 3 document said it plans to use cheaper, iron-based lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries in upcoming short-range Semi electric trucks and affordable electric cars.
- Tesla Plans to launch a 300-mile range version of the Semi heavy electric truck, which it calls “Semi Light,” but it did not provide details about the launch date.
- The automaker said its proposed sub $25k affordable electric car will use LFP batteries having a capacity of 53 kilowatt-hours (kWh), versus 75 kWh for Model Y and Model 3.
- Currently, Tesla uses nickel-based batteries for most of its Model 3 and Model Y vehicles sold in the United States. However, it will also use LFP batteries in its mid-sized vehicles but did not specify a timeline.

- Walmart announces its plans to install electric vehicle fast-charging stations at thousands of Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the U.S. by 2030.
- The company said it plans to own and operate the EV charging stations by itself and it’s in the process of identifying suppliers.
- Walmart has more than 4,700 stores and 600 Sam’s Club stores in its national network and it aims to install an average of four chargers at each participating store.
- As the big-box retailer looks forward to expanding its charging network of nearly 1,300 EV stations currently in operation at 280 locations, it did not provide much detail on the investments.
- With a Walmart store or Sam’s Club located within 10 miles of approximately, 90% of Americans are expected to be benefitted from easy access to on-the-go charging.
