  • Ford has yet again hiked the price of its popular F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck in a series of price hikes aimed at offsetting the high input costs, the automaker’s website showed on Thursday.
  • The base variant of the F-150 Lightning truck now starts at $59,974, excluding shipping and taxes, which has gone up by nearly 50% from its starting price when launched last year.
  • Ford also raised the price of the mid-level Lariat trim with standard-range battery from about $74,500 to just under $76,000.
  • The starting price for an F-150 Lightning in the top-line Platinum trim also increased, from about $96,900 to just over $98,000.

  • Why did Ford raise the price of the F-150 Lightning?

Ford has raised the price of the F-150 Lightning citing high input costs, market factors, and supply chain constraints.

  • Will F-150 Lightning price go down?

F-150 Lightning’s price might go down depending on the prices and the global supply chain of the critical raw materials used in the electric pickup. It would also be interesting to see if Ford is willing to pass on the margins to the customers when the raw material prices cool off. The prices may also go down in the future in case of an electric pickup price war among EV manufacturers.
