Hyundai Motors has declared 37,446 orders for the new Hyundai Ioniq 6 on the first day of preorders in South Korea. This is a new record in the company’s history for the highest number of preorders on first day. Earlier Ioniq 5 had set a record with 23,760 preorders and we thought it would be hard to beat.
Ioniq 6 was already buzzing amongst the EV enthusiasts and the record preorders are just a proof of that. We are pretty sure now that once the company opens order books for other markets, like the U.S and Europe; it will be an instant hit among the customers. On the overwhelming response received for the ioniq 6 preorders, this is what the Hyundai Motor Official has to say,
“Ioniq 6’s innovative interior and exterior design, along with the industry’s top-level traveling distance and driving performance incorporated with latest technology appear to have attracted positive public feedback and consumer interest”
Ioniq 6 Specifications and Range
Ioniq 6 was first unveiled at the Busan Motor Show in July last month and has been one of the most talked about EV since then. Ioniq 6 ticks all the right boxes in terms of design, efficiency, fast charging capabilities, futuristic tech features and the modern day practicality.

Although the final specifications of Ioniq 6 will not be disclosed before L.A. Auto Show in November, it will share the same Hyundai’s E-GMP platform as Ioniq 5 and come with powertrain and battery options similar to the Ioniq 5. But the estimated range of Ioniq 6 will be somewhere around 400 miles, all thanks to a 0.21 coefficient of drag (Cd) and that is the lowest on a Hyundai till date. E-GMP platform’s 800-volt architecture and superior DC fast-charging capabilities will add to the strengths of Ioniq 6.

Ioniq 6 Price and Availability for the U.S Markets
Ioniq 6 has been launched in South Korea at a starting price of 52 million won so the pricing for U.S markets can be expected to be around $38,000. However for an official confirmation we will have to wait till the first half of 2023 when the Hyundai Ioniq 6 makes its U.S debut.
